A kayak gets into the caves and inlets that the big boats pass at a distance, and it is the cheapest good hour on the islands. These 4 are priced by the session, with a note on which need any experience at all.
Start beneath Sensi Lido Beach in St Thomas Bay with a safety briefing from staff such as Adrian or Nani. Paddle a single or double kayak along Malta’s rugged south coast, looking for Munxar Window, Hofriet Window, caves, and quiet swimming spots. The outing is self-guided, beginner-friendly, and lasts 60 to 75 minutes.

Launch from Hondoq Bay with a guide such as Chris, Viv, Andrew, Frank, or Laura, then paddle across the Gozo Channel to Comino. Expect basic instruction, caves, arches, swimming stops, rock formations, and free photos. The route changes with wind and boat traffic, and you need basic swimming ability and moderate fitness.

Paddle from Hondoq Bay on Gozo toward Comino with guides such as Frank, Chris, Andrew, Viv, and Laura. Expect 2.5 hours on the water, cave and cove visits, a 30-minute swim stop, and a short Blue Lagoon visit. Beginners receive instruction, while stronger paddlers can enjoy a more active outing.

Paddle from Little Armier to Coral Lagoon in a single or double kayak. Seasport Malta provides your kayak, paddle, life jacket, locker access, and basic directions. This is a non-guided outing, so you steer yourself to the cave and back. You get two hours on the water, with English-speaking staff at the launch point.
“Great activity, decent kayaks and good instructions on how to find the Coral Lagoon from the staff working there. It was described as ‘quite choppy’ on the day we went. Being British and used to the English Channel the sea was ok condition wise for us, but as there are no guides and you’re out on your own in fairly deep water, I’d suggest it might not be the best activity for anyone that hasn’t tried kayaking before. Good choice of either double kayak or singles, life jackets provided and they have lockers for your valuables.Read more”
